We trialed this adjustable chest strap on six hikes where a standard leash alone felt thin — crowded switchbacks, creek ledges, and parking-lot handoffs. The strap gave direct chest control without throat pressure when we needed to shorten distance fast. Webbing adjusted cleanly on medium and large frames; the hand-hold position felt natural for right-handed handlers. It is not a full harness replacement — pair with a Y-front harness on technical days — but it solved the gap between leash slack and full lift. After two immersions the hardware did not seize; we air-dried overnight. Sized for dogs already comfortable with chest contact.
