Tested on Columbia River Gorge, summer 2025
We carried this stainless steel travel bottle on twenty-four day hikes in the Columbia River Gorge — average eight miles, average temp 74°F. The locking spout never weeped a drop in the daypack, even when we tossed it bottom-down at trailhead camp. The integrated drinking tray pours clean one-handed (the test that matters when a leash is in the other hand). Insulation held water cold for four hours in 80°F shade. We rinsed and reused — easy. Eleven competing bottles in our parallel test either leaked, dribbled, or required two-hand operation on switchbacks. This one earned a permanent door-bin spot.
What we love
- Locking spout — zero leaks in a bouncing daypack
- One-hand pour with leash in the other hand
- Stainless steel holds cold for half-day hikes
What to know
- Not an all-day ice chest — top off on warm afternoons
- Tray needs rinse after meaty treats
- Sized for one medium dog per fill
“Earned a permanent door-bin spot after twenty-four gorge hikes.”
